Adult Store Robbed for the Second Time in a Month

A Vernon woman is facing charges for a Monday night incident, police said.

A 20-year-old Vernon woman spent the night in jail after allegedly holding up an adult movie and book shop on Route 83 on Monday night, police said.

It was the second armed robbery at the establishment in a month.

At 9:45 pm, Vernon police responded to a report of an armed robbery at
the Luv Express, 65 Windsor Ave., according to a news release. Officers learned that a lone female entered the store wearing a mask, according to a news release. Police said she was armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk.

The woman fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Vernon officers and an East Hartford police dog team went to 3 West St., where they located the suspect, Angela Jordan, a news release indicates.

Jordan, 20, who lives at that address was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny, police said.

Police said she was also found to be in possession of 43 bags of heroin and was charged with narcotics possession.

Jordan was held overnight on a $100,000 surety bond and is scheduled to be presented in Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday.

Exactly one month ago, a man entered the same store  displayed what was believed to be a handgun, demanded money from the clerk and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
