To the Editor:
On behalf of the Rockville Community Alliance, the Vernon Police Department, the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department and the Vernon Community Network, we would like to thank everyone who participated at National Night Out on Tuesday.
Vernon has one of the largest NNOs in the state. Based on the number of people who attended, that is a very true statement. We distributed more than 1,400 hot dogs, 1,500 drinks and countless chips. (Unfortunately our ice cream truck broke down and we lost our load of treats for the kids. Hopefully Nana's Ice Cream will be up and running soon).
We have been blessed by having fantastic support from Target Stores and Rockville Bank.
A special thanks to Bev's Corner, Pastor Ray, Our band: 95 South, Vernon Public Schools, our chef - Michelle Margeloney and the Vernon Patch.
