Obituary: Roger L. Nolet, 67, of Vernon

Roger L. Nolet, 67, of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in Manchester Hospital, after a long illness. His loving family was by his side. 

He was born October 18, 1946, in Dexter, Maine. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era where he was stationed in Korea. Roger also had a distinguished career as a Firefighter for the East Hartford Fire Dept. for 27 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Susan (Stevens) Nolet; two brothers Art Nolet and his wife, Kathy of Washington State and Larry Nolet.

Roger was predeceased by his sisters Cecile Jaaskelain and Dot Massek. He will be deeply missed by his many loving nieces, nephews and their families from CT, MA, NH and PA.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, May 24, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., Vernon, with a memorial service beginning at 12:30 p.m.

A private family burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. – I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or ALS – CT Chapter, 4 Oxford Rd., Milford, CT 06460.
