What Does Vernon Have Against Families with Children?

Unlike other towns which built family and elderly housing, Vernon's public housing complexes are all one-bedroom and for the elderly. We changed our zoning laws to encourage high-density condominium complexes for those over 55 years old. Our schools have deteriorated. Families with children are leaving Vernon or sending children to other schools at our expense, and the Town's response is to cut $1.5 million from the school budget. It's as if we consider families a burden and have housing , land use and education policies that prevent or discourage families from coming to or staying in Vernon.
