Rockville Fest on Tap for Next Month

The event will have three major segments.

What's up next for downtown Rockville?

The annual Rockville Fest. This year the Rockville Community Alliance, the Tri-Town Cruzers, the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department and the Vernon Community Network are bringing bring back the ever-expanding festival on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year's Rockville Fest is actually three events in one:

• The Tri-Town Cruzers will again bring hundreds of cars and car enthusiasts to Main Street and the streets around Central Park in downtown Rockville. The show has been popular draw in past years. Car show trophy sponsorships are available.

• Central Park - 14 Park Place - will be filled with booths from crafters, home party vendors, artisans, businesses and local organizations. Food will be available from Russ’s Time Diner, area pizza and grinder shops and unique food trucks. Bounce Houses and activities willalso be on the green throughout the day.

• This year, under the sponsorship of the Vernon Community Network/Vernon School Readiness Program, the Ready-Set- Baby Fair is scheduled for Talcott Park that day. Several local organizations, businesses and health care professionals will be on hand to offer information to parents and those who are expecting.

There will be "minimal fees" for booths in and around Central Park, organizers said.

Booth prices are:

• Food vendors and businesses - $100, plus the necessary permits.

• Crafters, home party vendors, artisans - $50.

• Local non-profit organizations - $25

Those sponsoring booths should bring tables, chairs, pop-ups, banners, etc. There will be limited electrical capabilities at the event and no stakes are allowed in Central Park.
