Mayor Daniel Champagne on Thursday presided over the formal tree lighting ceremony on the green.
He was assisted by 5-year-old Tommy Glinski, a kindergarten student at Northeast School.
Champagne then took advantage of the late Thursday work day and hosted an open house at Town Hall - and in his office - for residents.
The light display includes the green at Central Park, a wreath on Town Hall and a star on the Fox Hill Tower.
