2nd Annual Wines of March to Benefit Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance

The Wines of March, a fundraiser for the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance (CTBTA), will be held Saturday, March 15 at 7:00 pm at the Connecticut Concert Ballet studio in Manchester.  The event was created by Maria Grove of Marlborough in celebration of her mother, Katy Wichlac, formerly of Windsor.  Mrs. Wichlac was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumor in November of 2011 and after a courageous battle, passed in February of 2012.

The Wines of March will not only honor the memory of my mother but will also highlight the wonderful services of the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance,” said Mrs. Grove.  “CTBTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on brain tumors, continuing their cutting-edge research, and providing compassion and support to both those living with brain tumors and their families/friends/caretakers.  I know that CTBTA is invaluable to families like mine, and I am honored to champion their cause.”

To celebrate what would have been Katy Wichlac’s birthday and the “Ides of March,” this year the event is a Toga Party!  Guests are welcome to come dressed in a Toga, and those who do so will be entered to win a raffle prize. (Togas are encouraged but not recquired.)

The evening will feature a wine tasting, as well as beer tasting provided by local brewery Shebeen Brewing Company, a silent auction, and an original performance by the Connecticut Concert Ballet Ensemble, plus a few additional surprises.

The Connecticut Concert Ballet studio is located at 280 Garden Grove Road in Manchester.  Tickets are $40.00 person and can be purchased online from the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance at www.ctbta.org.  For more information, please contact Maria Grove at (860) 614-4735.
