Tuesday is Election Day in Vernon

It was still dark out on Tuesday, but voting signs were already out. Vernon residents are heading to the polls throughout the day to choose a new mayor, Town Council and Board of Education.

A sample ballot is attached.

Can't get there yourself? Rides to the polls are being offered. The Republican Town Committee is offering rides to the polls via 860-836-6389. The Democratic Town Committee is offering rides via 860-970-5186.

Voting will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the following polling places:

• Northeast School for District 1.

• Rockville High School for District 2.

• Skinner Road School for District 3.

• Vernon Center Middle School for District 4. VCMS actually sits in the second district, but it was determined by the registrars of voters and the council that Lake Street School is just not big enough for the southern part of town.

A map of the polling places is attached.
