Vernon Trash and Recycling Schedule Posted for Snowstorm Period
The Friday schedule will resume next week.
Mayor George Apel has issued the following statement regarding trash collection during the current snowstorm:
"Refuse and recycling collection is canceled for Friday, Feb. 8. The next scheduled refuse and recycling collection for Friday routes will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
The Transfer Station located on Hockanum Boulevard will be closed the entire weekend (Feb. 9 and 10). The facility will be open to accept excess refuse and recycling ONLY on Monday, Feb. 11 and Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This will not require a permit or punch card. The Transfer Station will be open as normal on Wednesday, Feb. 13."
