Orientation Session Set For Miss Rockville Pageant

The session is slated for Jan. 20.

Plans are moving along for the second year of the Miss Greater Rockville competition.
 
Sunday, Jan. 20 has been designated as the orientation date for all girls and young women interested in participating in both the Miss Greater Rockville and Miss Greater Rockville's Outstanding Teen Scholarship pageant. The session is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. at Bev's Corner, 3 Elm St., in the Rockville section of Vernon.

Girls ages 13 through 17 (by July 1, 2013) are eligible to compete for the title of Miss Greater Rockville's Outstanding Teen, and women ages 17 through 24 (by July 1, 2013) are eligible to compete for the Miss Greater Rockville title.

Girls and young women from Vernon, Tolland, Ellington, South Windsor, Manchester and Bolton are eligible to compete. Anyone younger than 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Teri Rogers is this year's executive director.

An overview of the program and requirements of the program for the local, state and national levels will be discussed.

The current Miss Greater Rockville, Katlyn Lewicke, will be available to answer questions and help with filling out forms.

The second-annual Miss Greater Rockville Pageant is scheduled for Rockville High School on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6:00 p.m.

The inclement weather day is scheduled for Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.
