Miss Greater Rockville's Mission - Make the 2013 Pageant Local

She was on hand to explain the program to RHS students this week.

Miss Greater Rockville Katlyn Lewicke has not been shy about her desire to recruit girls for the next pageant.

The more local entries, the better, she says.

So on Thursday and Friday, she set up shop near the Rockville High School cafeteria to promote the Miss Connecticut organization, which the Rockville pageant is part of and offer any information the students may want.

The reception was enthusiastic - about 30 girls expressed interest.

"It's been great," Lewicke said. "I had no idea what to expect, but everyone has been nice and a lot of girls seem interested."

Lewicke was also not shy about promoting the scholarship angle. Miss Connecticut rewards thousands each year in scholarships.

The 2013 Miss Greater Rockville competition is scheduled for Feb. 16 at Rockville High School.
