Calling All Business Owners! Vernon's Economic Development Coordinator Wants to Hear From You

Hey Vernon business owners, and those who want to be one, the town's economic development coordinator wants to hear from you.

If you have a business in Vernon (or you would like to relocate to town) Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately would like to talk to you.

Gately has been making his way around town since he was hired back in June of 2011. He's been setting up ribbon cuttings, dedications and general meetings with the business community. He says that the business community should "consider me a resource if it needs one."

“A common question, I get is, 'What can you do to help me?' The answer is, it varies from business to business,” Gately said.

“Some need help with financing, others are out growing their current space, and still others are downsizing for a variety of reasons. The average business owner is too busy running his or her own business to stay up-to-date on state incentives like the Governor's Jobs Bill that was passed in 2011. I am here to listen, and advocate on behalf of local businesses when needed," he said.

Gately said that all businesses can be placed on his e-mail distribution list and that he welcomes calls to his office at (860) 870-3637. Don’t have time for a call? Send Gately an e-mail at sgately@vernon-t.gov.
