Include Art Classes in Back to School Planning

With summer coming to an end it’s back to school time. When you’re helping your student decide on after school activities be sure to make time for art!

Most kids love to draw, create, and invent. At Connecticut Art School our goal is to encourage creativity through art.  Art teaches kids to:

  • Be open to new ideas, ask questions, and solve problems
  • Develop and communicate their ideas in fun and innovative ways
  • Understand that there can be more than one solution to a problem
  • Gain patience and master the ability to work through disappointment  - there is always a way to do something but it can take more than one try
  • Gain fine motor skills, observational skills, and boost self-confidence
  • Make new friends and have fun
We believe art is essential to a child’s development. All the teachers at Connecticut Art School were fortunate to have great art teachers in their lives and we want to provide that same experience for your child. Being able to draw feels good and it’s a skill you can take with you (no batteries or internet required) and you can continue to grow and learn forever.

Founded in 2003 Connecticut Art School offers weekly drawing and painting classes for children 5 years old through adults. Our fine arts based curriculum concentrates on teaching the elements of art and principles of design. Our program is unique because our classes meet weekly, starting on September 9, 2013, for the school year. This allows time to learn and master new skills and techniques. It also makes it possible for our teachers to make great personal connections with our students. At the end of the school year we have an amazing art show to showcase the work of all the artists in our school.

Our entire program is 35 weeks long with one 8-week session followed by three 9- week sessions. Once your child is registered for a session they have the option of keeping that spot for the year. Over 40% of our students have been taking classes with us for 5 years or longer.

Our classes are broken down into levels with suggested ages for each level. Class sizes are small so everyone gets a lot of attention. We supply all high quality art materials.

Registration is open now and classes begin on Monday, September 9th.  The full class schedule and registration form is online at www.CT-ArtSchool.com

We also have a school Facebook page where we post lots of photos and important information about our school. Take a look and like us at: www.Facebook.com/connecticutartschool

One More Thing –

In addition to our weekly art classes we are now offering 3 Cheers for Art paint and wine parties for anyone 18 and over (must be at least 21 with a valid ID for the wine part). We’ll post another blog post soon with more details. Stay tuned…
