Summer in Florida Myths!

Off-Season in Florida explodes the myths created by the Snowbird crowd.

aExploding the myths about Summers in Florida!

Went to Sanibel Island off the Gulf coast of Ft. Myers yesterday... light traffic, gorgeous day (brief Summer showers in late afternoon) with temps around 90-ish, some humidity but overall not bad! Gramma and kids went on nature walk to the beach and picked sea shells from the World's BEST shell beach, swam in the vast clear light green ocean, and then returned to a Taj-Mahal like home (cousin Lindy's place) to a stunning natural salt-water pool in a setting that would shame most 5-star hotels. Awesome!!!

The Ft. Myers and Cape Corl areas are  out of season from June thru September, and the "Snowbirds" will return in early October... the locals stay home then. This time of the year is hot, but not unbearable, and the attractions not so touristy but more affordable! Since we are now year-round residents, we will quailyf for resident discounts everywhere... which will make things even nicer!

Contrary to snowbird thinking, we find this time of year much more attractive than the "season"... I am glad they do what they do!

Seems that the midwest and northeast are suffering through worst heat than we are right now... That is OK by me! Daily showers during the rainy season take the edge off and create beautiful sunsets!
