One of the backers of the brewery, Vernon resident Mike Boney, told the Courant the idea came when he turned a hobby of home brewing into a business idea. He said he plans on offering three beer types when the place opens: American ale, Irish ale and a Belgian IPA.

The group plans on having a taproom with eight other beers available.
