Readers' Choice: It's Lotus When Someone Else is Buying

Both are culinary legends in the community, so it was no surprise that they came in first and second as Patch Readers' Choice selections for the best places to eat when someone else is buying.

The Lotus and Rein's Deli are also practically next door to each other on Route 30.

The Lotus restaurant took 31 percent of the vote to win the poll. It features Asian and Vietnamese cuisine. A few of its signature dishes include spicy soup, Saigonees pancake and lemongrass chicken.

Lotus has been in business since 1986.

Rein's Deli is known by locals and travelers alike. There is a core group of snow sports writers who make it a point to stop there when heading north in the winter. Buses seem to have a compass pointed right there.

Rein's took in 27 percent of the vote in the poll to take second.

Its traditional deli menu is extensive.
