Friendly's has officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Chapter 11 allows a company to continue operating while its finances are restructured.
The filing is: Case No. 11-13167, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware.
The Friendly's at Vernon Circle is not on the list of more than 400 restaurants slated to close.
