Natchaug Awarded Grant to Provide 'Comfort & Joy' to Young Patients

Natchaug Hospital is the recent recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Altrusa Club of Northeastern Connecticut.

The club awarded the hospital - which serves a number of community-based programs in Vernon - in an effort to continue the “Comfort & Joy” initiative, which provides relief in the form of stuffed animals and clothing to children in the hospital’s inpatient unit.

"The Altrusa Club’s generous grant allows staff to also buy a personal soft toy or stuffed animal for the children, to alleviate anxiety and help them adjust to the unfamiliar environment," read a statement from Natchaug.
