He received the award at a convention in Las Vegas.

Burger King Worldwide, Inc. has named local franchise owner John Muirhead Jr. as Top Franchisee in the 6-19 restaurant category.

“Jack,” as he is known in the company, received the award for excellence in operations and focus on service.

Muirhead has been with Burger King for more than 32 years. He received his award at the 2012 BKW North America Convention, which took place at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

“I’d like to commend Jack for his outstanding job in operational excellence and his exemplary service record, helping to make the Burger King brand the QSR food authority,” said Steve Wiborg, President North America, Burger King Worldwide. “Jack’s commitment to ensuring a positive guest experience is helping to strengthen the BURGER KING® brand and grow our business.”

Muirhead owns seven Burger King restaurants with his son in Connecticut. A company news release indicated his restaurant locations consistently receive top tier guest satisfaction scores, landing in the top 5 percent system-wide.

Muirhead has one of the smallest turnover rates across the brand’s more than 7,400 North American restaurant locations and his average regional general manager employment tenure is 17 years, the company said.
