Vernon Man Held in Connection With Assault on Brown Hoop Player

Vernon police arrested him Wednesday.

A Vernon man was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection with a weekend assault in Rhode Island that left a Brown University basketball player critically injured, police said. 

According to a news release issued by the Vernon Police Department, local detectives were contacted by detectives from the Providence Police Department regarding a felony assault investigation. 

Vernon police located and arrested Tory Lussier, 25 at his 57 Pinnacle Dr. residence without incident, according to a department spokesman. 

Lussier was held Wednesday evening at the Vernon Police Department as a fugitive from justice on a Rhode Island warrant and is awaiting extradition to Rhode Island, according to a news release.
