How Boy Scout Troop 20/20 weathered our latest storm!

While most of us were inside our warm homes watching the snow fall outside, approx 14 scouts and additional adult leaders from Vernon Boy Scout Troop 20/20 spent last weekend camping!  At 6:00pm Friday 12/13, scouts & leaders headed out from the Elks lodge in Vernon.  Their destination was the Chesterfield Scout Reservation in Chesterfield, MA.

Their weekend was spent in a bunk house style cabin, with electricity & wood stove heat.  Water (including out houses) were outside of the cabin.

Weekend activities included lots of compass work, sled races, a "train of sleds", manhunt and other outdoor activities.  Inside they played Boy Scout Pictionary, had movie nights and lots of famous Troop traditional meals such as Mr. Drost's famous chili, hot dogs, ice cream, french toast, ect cooked using equipment brought by the Troop.

After waiting to be plowed out, they all returned Sunday around Noon.  All a little tired, but having had a fantastic time in the woods!

If this sounds like a good time to you, please check out our website at www.t2020.org to find out all about our Troop, including contact info, meetings, more photos and much more!
