Student Art Exhibit Scheduled at Library

Art Show at library to showcase the work of local students.

A Spring Student Art Exhibit is scheduled at the Rockville Public Library from March 7 to 30.

The show will feature the creative artwork of Vernon students in grades 1 through 12. 

Sponsored by the Art Department of the Vernon public school system, the exhibit will include displays of Vernon students’ oil and watercolor paintings; crayon, chalk and charcoal drawings; ceramics; paper craft work and sculpture.

The pieces displayed in the exhibit, selected by local art teachers, will be arranged for easy viewing in the Edith Peck Room on the library’s lower level.  To mark the opening day of the exhibit, the Friends of the Rockville Public Library will host a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 7. 

Refreshments will be served, and from 6 to 7 p.m. Music will be provided by Rockville High School and Vernon Center Middle School students who belong to the Vernon Flute Choir.
