Drawing Class Coming to Arts Center

The class continues the streak of unique offerings.

The Vernon Community Arts Center continues to offer a variety of classes.

Would you like to draw?  Then the latest class is for you. No experience is necessary to learn about values, grid and contour drawing, portraiture, perspective, observation techniques and negative space.

Students will complete one grid drawing, one self-portrait and one perspective drawing.  Students should bring pencils, erasers, a sharpener and a sketch pad (minimum 16-by-20-inches) to the first class. Additional supplies will be discussed at that time.

Instructor Amy McConnell Burris has degrees in art and French. She has taught abroad and in area schools since 1990. Since 2007, she has taught a variety of art courses at Manchester Community College. During the month of March, she will have a solo watercolor exhibit at South Windsor Library.

The class is scheduled for Tuesdays, from Feb. 5  through March 12  from 7 to 9 p.m.

The fee is $125.

The Vernon Community Arts Center is located at 709 Hartford Turnpike - Route 30.

For more information or to register call the VCAC at (860) 871-8222.

You could set up a feeding station with a trail-cam ; you can see if he's coming around. TrailRead More cams run from $60 to $200 - but I have a "cheapy" $80 that does night time and day time shots and is fantastic, so the cheaper cams are very good.

Go out late a "night", when it is very quite, call his name. I have found many cats thisRead More way, because house cats don't like a lot of noise and are very afraid. Your cat is hiding, will be afraid to come out. Look in areas were there is woods, secluded areas.

Hi Class of 1945. If you need help getting the work out there is a FaceBook page titled "If youRead More grew up in Rockville." Although most of the conversations are about reminiscing yester-year we do have quite the size crowd. Currently we stand at 2080 members & we add approx 10 new members a week. So I would be happy to help spread this word if you like. Carl Slicer. From Vernon & Class of RHS 1976. cslicer@BestHire.com Tel. 872-0055.
