Children's Librarian honored ... and honored ...

Shahla Zarinejad has had five accolades bestowed upon her over the past three months.

The accolades have piled up for Shahla Zarinejad, the head of children's services at the Rockville Public Library, this spring and summer.

Here are the five:

1. State Rep. Claire Janowski presented a legislative citation to her after reading at the children's story hour last week.

2. Local photographer Stephen Charles donated a portrait of her to the library.

3. Official praise from Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

4. Official praise from Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman.

5. The Faith Hedtoen Award as a recognition of her work at the Rockville Public Library.  The award is given annually by the Children's Section of the Connecticut Library Association to recognize the efforts of an individual or group that has made an impact on library services to children in Connecticut.
