Voters Heading to the Polls for $27 Million Road Bond Issue

Tuesday's referendum is open until 8 p.m. at Center 375.

Tuesday's voting on a proposed $27.65 million bond ordinance that would allow the town to embark on a massive six-year road maintenance project is live until 8 p.m.

The polls opened at 6 a.m. at Center 375, located at 375 Hartford Turnpike - Route 30. It is the only voting location for the referendum.

As of 9:08 a.m., 85 of the 15,717 eligible voters had participated. The number was better than 100 a half-hour later. Election officials said it is a typical pace for a referendum.

The plan is to fix more than 200 roads from a quick seal to complete reconstruction.
