A 9/11 essay contest recently took place at Rockville High School and the winners of the contest will read their essays at the ceremony.

A resolution was passed in the U.S. Senate calling for a national "Moment of Remembrance'' and its primary sponsor, Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, sent a letter to mayors urging participation. Sens. Joseph Lieberman and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut appear seventh and eighth on the resolution.
