Vernon DPW Announces Memorial Day Schedule
Residents encouraged to plan ahead for recycling.
The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day.
Trash will not be collected that day.
It will instead will be collected on Tuesday, May 29 along with that day's regular trash collection.

Recycling will not be collected at all from the Monday and Tuesday routes that week.
Public Works Director Robert Kleinhans suggested that residents plan in advance and have recycling collected the week before. Excess trash and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Transfer Station is normally open on Sundays from noon to 4 pm., but the Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, May 27, Kleinhans said.
