The Vernon Department of Public Works has issued the following news release regarding Columbus Day trash and recycling collection:
The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 in observance of Columbus Day.
Refuse and recycling will not be collected on that day but instead will be collected on Tuesday, Oct. 15, along with that day's collection.
Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station, free of charge, year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
