Valley Falls Park Has Something for Everyone

a few scenes from Valley Falls Park.

Probably one of the most scenic parks in Connecticut is Valley Falls Park in Vernon which is also a historic national site.

There are 8.5 miles of trails for hiking, running and bird watching and they stay open in the winter for people to go snowshoeing and cross country skiing.  A large lake sits in the middle of the park for fishing and swimming.  A beach on the lake is located adjacent to the parking lot.  The park also includes a playground and a picnic pavilion for people to bring the entire family to.

The parking lot is located off of Bolton Road on Valley Falls Road.  When turning onto Valley Falls Road from Bolton Road, the parking lot for the park will be located on the first left turn.
