Take Your Child to the Library Day to be Observed Next Month

It is a national program that began in Connecticut.

Feb. 2 has been designated "Take Your Child to the Library Day."

The Rockville Public Library Children’s Department will be observing the event that Saturday.

It is the second-annual version of the day, which was created in Connecticut and is now a nationwide effort focused on bringing children into their local libraries and encouraging families to read together.

While visiting the library that day, children may apply for a library card and check out a book, video, magazine, or audio book.

Families who visit the library that day will receive a tote bag.

A craft workshop and face painting will be offered at the Library Annex, located next door to the Library, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For more information, contact the Library at 860-875-5892.

Hi Class of 1945. If you need help getting the work out there is a FaceBook page titled "If youRead More grew up in Rockville." Although most of the conversations are about reminiscing yester-year we do have quite the size crowd. Currently we stand at 2080 members & we add approx 10 new members a week. So I would be happy to help spread this word if you like. Carl Slicer. From Vernon & Class of RHS 1976. cslicer@BestHire.com Tel. 872-0055.
