Sun Shines On Vernon Memorial Day Parade

Crowds lined the streets to watch.

After two days of wet weather, the sun came out on Monday to provide a pleasant morning for Vernon's annual Memorial Day Parade.

Veterans were provided rides courtesy of local car dealerships and the police and fire departments were well represented along with local students and scouts.

A unit of the Alden Skinner Camp No. 45 Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War were on hand in uniform.

The parade featured memorial ceremonies at cemeteries and the traditional wreath-laying by Mayor George Apel at the Town Green monuments.
