RDA Aims to Lift Spirits with New Holiday Banners in Rockville

They are lining the downtown streets.

According to Rockville Downtown Association President Lisa Moody, "It's beginning to look a lot like the holiday season in downtown Rockville."

She is referring to the 20 new, bright red banners that have been placed on poles on Union, East Main and West Main streets.

The banners, which were purchased and put up by the RDA, offer, "a cheery welcome to visitors and shoppers alike," Moody said.

The banners feature snowflakes of varying sizes.

"We wanted to bring a little color and warmth to downtown Rockville this holiday season," Moody said. "We're proud of Rockville and we want everyone to know it."

Dan Waskiewicz, vice President and founding member of the RDA said, "We will be leaving the banners up throughout the holidays and well into the winter season. We encourage people to shop local and visit the many merchants in Rockville."

The RDA is a member-funded non-profit dedicated to preserving the historic Rockville area and promoting Rockville businesses and economic development.
This summer and fall the RDA sponsored and put up dozens of U.S. flags, which flew on poles throughout downtown Rockville.
