Rabies Clinic Scheduled for Sunday

Local vets, firehouse, teaming up for clinic.

Town & Country Veterinary Associates will be hosting a rabies clinic at Fire station 141, on Rt. 30 on Sunday.

The clinic is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Rabies vaccines will be $20 cash per pet.

Participants are asked to bring proof of a prior rabies vaccination if available.

In Connecticut, all dog and cat owners or keepers are required by law to vaccinate their pets against rabies and to keep those vaccinations up to date.

Dog owners are required to show a vaccination certificate  in order to license their dogs.

The law allows municipalities to sponsor annual, low cost rabies vaccine clinics for dogs and cats.

Cats are not required to be licensed, but are required to be vaccinated
against rabies.
