Pot About to Bubble for Cornerstone's Biggest Event

The annual Soupfest is slated for Nov. 7.

The Cornerstone Foundation's largest annual fund-raiser is scheduled for Nov. 7.

It's the annual Soupfest - a soup buffet, auction and raffle and night of fun at St. Bernard Church hall in Rockville. The master of ceremonies will be Paul Sheridan and the bluegrass group Gras Routes will perform.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This year's best soup contest is between Vernon Fire Department, Crystal Lake Fire Department and East of the River Explorers.

The event raises about $10,000 annually in net proceeds and benefits the Cornerstone soup kitchen, clothing bank, homeless shelter and youth center.

Admission to the event itself is free and sponsor tickets can be purchased for $50 and each ticket is entered into the raffle.

Sponsorship levels are:

• Gold Spoon - $1,000 and up.
• Silver Spoon - $500 to $999.
• Helping Hand - $200.
