Open House at Civil War Museum on Sunday

The GAR hall opens at noon.

The New England Civil War Museum will be open on Sunday for a regular open house session.

The doors will be open from noon to 3 p.m.

The museum is located on the second floor of the Vernon Town Hall in one of the few fully preserved Grand Army of the Republic halls left in the nation.

The venue looks like it did for gatherings right after the Civil War.
Items on display include authentic weapons and equipment belonging to  those from Tolland County who fought, artwork, photographs and historical documents.

This week, the museum hosted famed Civil War Artist Don Troiani.
