Noted Artist Featured at New England Civil War Museum on Thursday

Noted Civil War artist and author Don Troiani will be presenting an informative lecture on the period - and his works - on Thursday at the New England Civil War Museum in Vernon.

Troiani's lecture is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. The historic Grand Army of the Republic Hall will be the setting. The hall is located at the Vernon Town Hall, 14 Park Place.

There is no admission charge.

Troiani will be discussing his artwork and the research that goes into a particular work. His goal is to present historical truths through art and museum officials said he, "has personally set uncompromising standards of excellence and authenticity in his field that few others can equal."

Troiani has worked as a consultant for various museums, television productions and movies like "Cold Mountain."

His works have been on loan to museums such as West Point, The Smithsonian Institution and the Gettysburg Visitors Center.
