No Trash Collection on the Fourth of July

No recycling will be picked up that week along the Wednesday and Thursday routes.

The Vernon Department of Public Works and the Transfer Station on Hockanum Boulevard will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of  Independence Day.  

Trash will not be collected on that day. Trash along the Wednesday route will instead will be collected on Thursday, July 5 along with the regular Thursday trash collection, Public Works Director Robert Kleinhans said.

Recycling will not be collected at all from the Wednesday and Thursday routes on Fourth of July week, he said.

Aside from the Fourth of July, excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
