National Night Out to Celebrate its 30th Anniversary on Aug. 6
The event is on tap for Downtown Rockville that night.
Aug. 6 will mark the 30th anniversary of National Night Out.
The event was created by law enforcement and community groups around the nation to stage a crime-free, safe evening of fun and entertainment in neighborhoods. This year's local version is slated for Aug. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Downtown Rockville.
The Rockville Community Alliance in conjunction with the Vernon Police Department, the Vernon Parks & Recreation Department and the Vernon Community Network will be sponsoring the National Night Out.
Many organizations set up free informational booths that night or donate gift bags for a raffle. For sponsorship and booth information, visit www.RockvilleCommunityAlliance.org.
