June 14, 2011: Paving, a Budget Crunch, Extra Keys and Flag Day

1. The state Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin paving operations on Route 30 - Hartford Turnpike - on Tuesday from Dart Road to Tunnel Road. Paving work will take place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and should last through the week. Police are encouraging drivers to use alternate routes.  The DOT posted a starting date of Monday on its message board, but told the police work would begin on Tuesday. No paving work was done on Monday.
