June 10, 2011: Aftermath of the Storm

Five tidbits from Thursday's thunderstorm.

1. The thunderstorm knocked out power to more than 4,000 residents on Thursday.

2. Rockville High School was without power into the night and school officials will decide if classes can be held this morning.

3. Mayor Jason McCoy was responding to the scene of one of the outages on Route 83 and came upon a car that had a branch pierce its windshield.

4. The outage at the high school came one day after a faulty smoke detection system forced students and staff members onto the lawn briefly.

5. A Connecticut Light & Power spokeswoman said restoring power to 119,000 state residents would be a multi-day project.
