July in the Sky Celebration Scheduled for Tonight

Here is a rundown on tonight's July in the Sky fireworks celebration. Fireworks are scheduled to be set off at about 9:40 p.m.

Cars will be charged $5 to park at Henry Park. The fee will be collected at the gate on Thursday.

Gates open at 6 p.m.

Walk-ins will be charged a $1 admission fee at both sites. Proceeds will help fund next year’s event.

Limited traffic rules will be in effect beginning at 6 p.m..

Road Closures: HENRY PARK SITE: Spruce Street, Tower Road, Henry Park portions of Thomas Street. There will be no foot traffic allowed on Tower Road beginning at 8 p.m. DOWNTOWN FESTIVAL SITE: Portions of East & West Main Streets, Park Street, St. Bernard’s Terrace and Park Place.

Residents who live on these streets should plan accordingly, but will be allowed vehicular access.

No Parking: Vernon Avenue, McLean Street, South Street. One Side Only Parking: High Street, Howard Street, Fox Hill Drive, Reed Street, Kevin Drive Cars parked in Henry Park will exit onto South Street going WEST.

Cars parked on Fox Hill Drive, Reed Street, Hale Street Extension, Crown Street and White Street will exit onto South Street going EAST.

Free downtown parking at St. Bernard’s Church, Rockville Professional Center, Rockville Bank, uUnion Congregational Church, Town Hall parking lot, Board of Education lot.

• 7-7:30 p.m. - Watermelon and Hula-Hoop Contests

• 7:35 p.m. - Dennis Nevin Sings the National Anthem

• 7:40-8 p.m. - Push, Pedal, Pull Patriotic Parade

HENRY PARK

• 6-8:30 p.m. - Giant Inflatable Toys

• 6:45-7:45 p.m. - Fuzion Inc. Dance Performance

Fireworks are scheduled to commence at 9:40 p.m. from the Fox Hill Tower in Henry Park.
