It's October - and the Strong Farm Scarecrows are Arriving

The scarecrow contest has begun.

The Tuesday morning fog in Vernon Center provided the perfect backdrop to usher in October at Strong Farm. 

The scarecrows began arriving on Sunday and Monday along Peterson Road. 

Entry forms are now being accepted for the farm's second-annual scarecrow contest.

There is no cost to enter. Scarecrows will be displayed during the contest along the farm’s fence posts on Peterson Road.

The Strong Family Farm is in the process of becoming a non-profit historic and educational agricultural center. Information on membership and volunteer opportunities will be available at the festival and are available now at www.strongfarm.org.

The winners will be announced on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Strong Farm Harvest Festival. 

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
