HVCC Needs Families Adopted

The organization sends out a wish list for baskets.

The Hockanum Valley Community Council has an extensive holiday wish list for its Tri-Town Food Pantry.

Here is a sampling: 

• Food and/or grocery store gift cards to complete holiday baskets for  clients for Christmas.

• Gift cards for teenagers for Christmas.

• Volunteer time is needed to assemble and distribute holiday baskets for Christmas. 

The HVCC still needs families adopted for the holidays. Last year, the organization fed 1,327 families.

Turkeys or hams can be donated as well as full baskets.

A small family basket can be outfitted for about $30. It includes:

• A small turkey, turkey breast or ham.

• One can of gravy.

• A box of stuffing.

• Three potatoes.

• A can of yams or sweet potatoes.

• One can of vegetables.

• One Can of fruit.

• One can of cranberry sauce.

• A package of rolls.

• A pie shell and filling or cake mix and icing.

• A disposable baking pan.

A large family basket can be filled for about $60. It includes:

• A medium-to-large turkey or ham.

• Two cans of gravy.

• A box of stuffing.

• Five potatoes.

• Two cans of yams or sweet potatoes.

• Two cans of vegetables.

• Two cans of fruit.

• One can of cranberry sauce.

• A package of rolls.

• A pie shell and filling or cake mix and icing.

• A disposable baking pan.
