Home Decorating Contest on Tap for December
Rec Department, RCA are sponsoring the event.
Whether a home has a modest holiday display or whether it looks like it is a spaceship that just landed from another planet, it could be deemed one of the best in Vernon.
From Dec. 1 to 16, the Rockville Community Alliance and the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department are accepting entires in their 2011 holiday decorating contest.
The categories are:
• Overall Best Display.
• Best Commercial Display.
• Best Door.
• Best Theme.
• Best "Green" Display.
The deadline for entires is 1 p.m. on Dec. 16. Judging will begin the week of Dec. 19. The winners will be announced in local media poutiest and at www.RockvilleCT.com.
Entry forms can be dropped off at the Parks and Recreation Department, 120 South St., or e-mailed to alocandro@vernon-ct.gov.
