CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR'S INFORMATION
Refuse & Recycling Schedule - The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in observance of Christmas Day and on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in observance of New Year’s Day. Refuse and recycling will not be collected on those days but instead will be collected the following day on Thursday, December 26, 2013 and Thursday, January 2, 2014, respectively, along with that day's collection.
Transfer Station - The Transfer Station will be open during its regular hours of operation on Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22 and the following weekend Saturday, December 28 and Sunday, December 29, 2013. It will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in observance of Christmas Day and on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in observance of New Year's Day. Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge year round.
Christmas Tree Disposal - Christmas trees will be collected the first two full weeks in January, weather-permitting. Please remove all decorations, tinsel and plastic bags. In addition, the Transfer Station will be accepting Christmas trees for disposal the entire month of January. A permit and punchcard will not be required for this.
