DPW Posts Labor Day Trash and Recycling Schedule
The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 1.
The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day, Department of Public Works officials said.
Trash and recycling will not be collected that day.
Trash and recycling pickups will instead take place on the following day - Tuesday, Sept. 3 - along with that day’s regular collections, DPW officials said.
Excess trash and recycling can be brought to the Transfer Station on Hockanum Boulevard free of charge during normal business hours - Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
There is one exception this holiday weekend - the Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 1.
