Civil War Museum to Present Program on Wartime Doctors

The event is slated for March 1.

On Thursday, March 1  at 7:30 p.m., The New England Civil War Museum is presenting a program called, "They Did Their Best - Army Doctors And Staff Fight Their Own War."

The event will be in the Grand Army of the Republic hall on the secondfloor of town Hall, 14 Park place. Doors will open at 7.

The keynote speaker will be R.M "Mick" Bedard, MD. He is a partner with Connecticut Asthma & Allergy in West Hartford and president of the Hartford Medical Society, Farmington, Ct.
 
A slide show presentation highlighting the diseases and injuries that confronted mid-18th century medical professionals and how they responded to the task will be featured. Dr. Bedard Will discuss the advances that occurred before and during the War that became part of the foundation of modern medicine and nursing. 

Admission is free. A question-and-answer session will take place after the presentation.
