Civil War Museum Program on Christian Commission Postponed

The event will be rescheduled.

A program on the United States Christian Commission scheduled for Thursday at the New England Civil War Museum has been postponed because of predicted heavy snowfall.

The presentation was to be by local pastor and educator Ed Campolongo.

The Christian Commission was a volunteer group established by the YMCA to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the Union soldiers during the Civil War.

The museum is located at the Grand Army of the Republic Hall in the Vernon Town Hall.

The program will be rescheduled for a date to be announced, museum officials said.
