Author John Banks will discuss his book, "Connecticut Yankees at Antietam," on Saturday.

The New England Civil War Museum is scheduled to host a presentation by Author John Banks on his book, "Connecticut Yankees at Antietam," on Saturday.

Banks’ intense interest in the Battle of Antietam dates to 1982, when he found a Minié ball - legally - on the D.R. Miller farm on the battlefield.

A longtime journalist and Civil War blogger (john-banks.blogspot.com ), Banks has worked for the Martinsburg (WV) Evening Journal, the Baltimore News American and the Dallas Morning News. He currently is NFL editor for ESPN.com. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two children.

John will discuss his book on Saturday - Sept. 14 - at 7:30 p.m. at the museum, located in the historic Grand Army Hall 14 on the second floor of the Vernon Town Hall.

The talk is free and open to the public. For additional information visit the museum Web page at www.newenglandcivilwarmuseum.com or its facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/New-England-Civil-War-Museum/318932590891?ref=ts&fref=ts
