"Boys From Rockville" to be Discussed on Thursday

The program is scheduled for the New England Civil War Museum

On Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. at the New England Civil War Museum, author and professor Dr. Robert Bee, will present a program entitled, "Writing the Hirst Brothers War." 

Bee will discuss his book, "The Boys From Rockville." The book tells the story of Rockville soldier Sergeant Benjamin Hirst through the use of his wartime letters to his wife and brothers. 

Is is part of a series to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

The New England Civil War Museum is maintained and operated by Alden Skinner Camp 45, Sons of Union Veterans. It is located in the fully preserved Civil War-era Grand Army of the Republic Hall on the second floor of the Vernon Town Hall, 14 Park Place.
